Overview

Dr. Rachel Elkin is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (in Emergency Medicine) at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. After obtaining her medical degree at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine - during which time she concurrently obtained a master’s degree in clinical research from Case Western Reserve University - she went on to complete her residency in pediatrics and fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital/Columbia University Irving Medical Center. She subsequently pursued further academic training and completed an additional fellowship in medical simulation.

Dr. Elkin serves as the Clinical Simulation Assistant Site Director for NewYork-Presbyterian/Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital within the Department of Emergency Medicine. Her academic interests center around how novel technologies and instructional designs, particularly within simulation, impact educational, psychometric, and clinical outcomes.

Dr. Elkin is board certified in both pediatrics and pediatric emergency medicine and practices clinically at NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital.
