Mission: 

To cultivate a unified Department of Emergency Medicine that provides outstanding care to our patient population. To support all our staff, trainees, and faculty with opportunities in academic medicine.

To recruit, retain, promote, and support all individuals and create a workforce that reflects the range of talent of New York City, the larger metropolitan area, and the nation. To foster the free exploration and expression of differing ideas, beliefs, and perspectives through scholarly inquiry and civil discourse.

Vision:

We aim to increase faculty and staff awareness and understanding of the various experiences of our peers, and to foster greater engagement, compassion, and excellent care for our patients.

Current Strategies:

Promotion of best practices, education, and cultivation of partnerships within the emergency department and beyond. Provide training, programming, and events to further the mission of the Department of Emergency Medicine.
